My little town........all across our country, heck, the world people gather together to simply enjoy time in community. My town has a gorgeous pond and park in the center of town. It is a place to gather for lunch, feed the ducks, or enjoy a Friday night concert. Last night Ronnie B. and I went to the concert with Roshan who is staying with us from Nepal, and Janet who is staying with Nate and Natalie from Nigeria. The music was loud and just great! It felt like the whole town was there in lawn chairs, on blankets laid on the grass, visiting, or dancing to the tunes.
I feel so blessed that our kids were raised at Friday night concerts and now we get to enjoy watching other families dancing with their kiddos. Every little town has its own traditions and celebrations. Whether it is a kite festival, a fireworks display, or a concert in the park gathering together is always so much fun. Thank you Russell and Deb Gordon for having the vision to make our Friday nights incredible. So here is to grabbing a lawn chair and heading to events in my town and yours to see people that you run into in the grocery store as well as thoseyou haven't seen in a few years. Catching up on where our grown kids are and what they are doing is as sweet as seeing adults who used to have sleep overs at our house who still live in my little town. I can't wait till next Friday to gather again for good music and laughter. Perhaps I won't wait that long but grab a coffee and sit at one of the picnic tables and see who ventures by.
In Him,
Joyful
