Going from Barbers2 to Barbers6 to Barbers20 and Counting

Millie is one! Our first great-grandson is due in less than a month. Our seven grand kiddos are happy, healthy and thriving. Life is good. So I just wanted to share a smile about each and every one.

Lissa is about to be a mom and she is gorgeous in her sweet pregnancy. I got to go with her to her ultrasound and was so mesmerized seeing little Caleb Liam moving around in his tight space. His daddy had to work which gave me the opportunity to be there. God is good. I love seeing her and Che’ loving each other as they prepare to be parents. Little diapers, a bassinet, and everything else they need are organized and put away ready for their little man to get here.

Kenzie is our master chef and baker. She just made her sister’s first birthday cake, gluten free of course since that is how that household roles out of love for their mama. This sweet sixteen enthusiastic, go getter is so involved with her high school and will be taking college classes her senior year. She is like her daddy in that she has so many interests and does her best to pursue them all.

Kayla is our artist and reader. She is content to create in her sketchbook or relax in her hammock chair that  papa installed with her current read. Kayla is such a sweet spirit. She is now a high schooler and is kicking it on the cross country team. I remember when she was a tiny thing loving to go for a run with her endless energy. The confidence she has is contagious. New adventures await our sweet KK.

Tim is such an incredible brother. He puts up with two older sisters who are quick to correct him but even then they are his best friends. I can’t even express how in love with our one year old Millie he is. There are so many moments that you find them snuggling on the couch or him bragging about her latest milestone. Tim has found his passion in baseball. More specifically Tim’s joy is behind the plastic as the catcher and brains of the team. I love seeing his confidence grow in a sport and his own talents.

Amalia is eight and quite the sassy, little lady. There is no matching her energy or enthusiasm. She is in a running club called Girls on the Run and loving it. This fun loving girl is always full of stories and joy. She blesses her grandparents with her time. Spending a few nights each week with both sets is such a gift to them and to her. Ami nd Lissa lost their dad/stepdad Hector almost a year ago and were completely devastated. We all were. But Ami finds a way to keep a joy about her even while missing her daddy. I know how loving and courageous this precious girl is. What an example to keep living life even in the most difficult of times our sweet, eight year old grandgirl is.

Felix is a two and a half ball of fire. He is obsessed with trains, dinosaurs, planets and books. He cracks me up with his chatter that is so clear. I get corrected when I call the excavator by the wrong name and he enunciates it perfectly. Heck, he can even say Albuquerque that so many adults mispronounce. His mom said he is starting to go potty on his toilet. It made me chuckle when she said he says, “Oh no, it’s not working.” when he can’t seem to go. That is so funny. His love of music is so sweet and he knows just what song he wants to hear and by what artist. Felix keeps Alexa pretty busy with all his requests. This generation sure has all information and entertainment at the sound of their voice. I guess mixed tapes and encyclopedias are a thing from my generation.

Millie is one! Hurray for our sweet girl. She just makes me smile as she is finding her legs and running all around. She did great getting in and out of the car seat as we went to a few dozen garage sales. This little one understands everything and loves the attention of her siblings. Millie has so many signs and gets her point across easily. My favorite by far is when anyone asks her a question. More often than not she shrugs her shoulders, turns both hands up as if to say………I don’t know. It is quite adorable. There must be something in our tone that alerts her that what we are saying requires an answer. Her personal sign is my most favorite of all.

And now we are preparing for a great grandson. What a gift life is for Ron and I when we started out wanting a family and going through unsuccessful infertility treatments and then were gifted by birthmom’s who created our family of six. Now with kids, their spouses, and children we went from Barbers6 to Barbers20. If you are doing the math let me help you out. That includes all the in laws or as I call them in loves that are also my kiddos. What a gift we have in this ever growing family of ours. God is indeed good and blesses us beyond our asks.

In Him,

Joyful
