I so believe that what is memorable is the unexpected. My grandgirl just shakes her head at the random things I come up with in my heard. Luckily, I keep most of my weird thoughts to myself but I do push past my filters at times and share some of the crazy that is me. I don’t want to be a frumpy old woman that gives out outdated wisdom but that woman who can come up with a new and creative way to tackle a task. We all want.a good story to tell and even if it is a bit risky, it just might be worth it to make a memory. I have a shirt that says that’s a horrible idea/…….what time? Life doesn’t have to be boring even in our later decades.
My grandma taught me that life is to be lived with a chuckle not a mope. She loved to shock us with her antics. She had some songs she taught us that I could not repeat here. Don’t even get me started on how she helped us carry out our crazy ideas that most gramma’s would have advised against. My cousin, Jerry, once climbed a water tower with encouragement not warnings from her. If we were eating ice cream she would empty the chocolate and whip cream onto your sundae. Always leading with fun and foolery. Recalling her go for it nature makes me realize where I get my own wild ideas. My mom was the practical one and would just shake her head at gramma and me as we went off on another ill advised adventure. Oh how I wish they were both here to add to the wild in me.
Luckily, I have my crazy ladies that are willing to jump on board for a misguided adventure now and then. Ronnie B reminds me to use my filters and there is wisdom in that. But sometimes it is okay to just jump right in and go for it. But my lifetime of crazy stunts are still contributed to having my gramma live on in me.
So make snow angels, splash in the puddles, play in the mud and blow those dandelions all over the place. Messes can be cleaned up and oh how good the hot shower after feels. Staying clean is just not as exhilarating as getting a bit messy. Then you can start a blog that your kids, grands and greats will be obligated to read when you have danced your last dance. Footloose and fancy free is what this aging is meant to be.
In Him,
Joyful

I like your ideas and your grandma sounds like a hoot and fun. Once some friends were celebrating our oldest friend's birthday and saying she is an example of growing old gracefully. I said, yes she inspires me and I have a different goal of aging disgracefully. Both are good goals.
