Forty-eight Years Ago Ronnie B and I Said I Do

Our 48th anniversary is next Wednesday. How is it possible that our wedding day was that long ago? Ronnie B and I are enjoying our best life. I can’t say there aren’t fewer hairs on our head or more wrinkles to see in the mirror, but our lives together are so relaxing and enjoyable. When I think of the trials and triumphs over the past decades it makes me proud of the strength and faith we have maintained over the years. Our walk has always been centered on Christ and one another. Even when we had those times that we couldn’t agree on anything, we kept our hearts for one another.

This season of life with the long walks, rv trips, family get togethers and so many kids, grandkids and even great grands is beyond what we could dream of. Those two 21 year old college students standing up to commit to each other for a lifetime of love actually made it to through life together and now are more at ease and in love than ever. I know this is a sappy post but I also know that the hard times were worth sticking together. Forgiveness and having grace for one another is key. Praying together brought us back from the separation that almost ended our love and life togerher. This picture shows just how fortunate we are to remain on our path together.

An engineer and an educator have very different personalities but the truth is opposites do attract and can live happily ever after if they embrace their differences. I love this man who stole my heart in high school and I love the life we share. RV trips togerher just the two of us are some of my most favorite times. Then when all the kiddos pile in to go get ice cream or off to a baseball game the joy increases with the volume in our Goldie van. 48 years and the future holds so many more trips, memories to make, and love to share.

In Him,

Joyful
