I looked over at her proud parents, who wanted her to be perfect, and was thrilled that they saw how precious her shadow chasing was. The simple steps of the dance were not the important thing in that family filled auditorium, the love and support and pride these little darlings felt was what really mattered. After a few missed twirls and a few extra toe taps, Kenzie got back in step with her group. Her shadow fascination actually made the night even more special somehow.
God has given us the blessing of having children and grandchildren living in our little, sleepy hometown. As the kids grow up here, Noni and Papa will be fortunate enough to attend a multitude of firsts with cameras focused and smiles across our faces.
My son assures me, I will not be attending dance performances for his son though. He sat beside me in the 3rd row last night determinedly whispering about the Broncos, tattoos, and fly fishing. Which are all acceptable for this little guy still under a year old. Hey, wait a minute, no tattoos til he is 6 at least Dad!@!
In Him,
Joyful
