Pray For Hope, Pray For Comfort

Praying for others is good. It is better than good, it is comforting. When we get to a place in life where a situation comes up that we are helpless to control, prayer gives us hope and purpose. So often, I have to sit with my hands turned palm up to help me focus on the fact that He has the control not me. I thank Him that I don't have to have all the answers or control all the outcomes. Mostly, I thank Him that whatever the outcome He will be there to walk beside me through the joy and the pain.

Several people that I love are hurting right now. Their situations are not ones that I can do much about. Instead of feeling helpless, I pray. Yes, I let them know that I will listen anytime, but sometimes their is too much pain to even talk about it. Sometimes, they just want to crawl in bed and cover their head. But even then I can pray. It gives God my hope and gives me hope that He will be with those I love just like He walks beside me. That is comfort. That is power.

In Him,
Joyfully praying for those I love
