Tattoos, Songs & Poems

A tattoo is a memorial these days. So many of Ry's friends got tattoos to remember him by. Tanner's is of a fly rod which symbolizes 1 of his brother's passions, not his. So my amazing son, Tanner, will wear a fly rod on his forearm to remember the brother he loved and lost too soon.

Ron and I have even considered getting a tattoo also. I have this idea in my head but am afraid without it drawn out that I will get to the place and hate what they draw. Then, if I am too afraid to say anything, I will have a forever tattoo that bugs me instead of making me smile. Oh well, guess I will just wait until Tanner gets time to draw up the idea.

Ryan is remembered by so many in their own special ways. His memorial page is a gift that Brittney started and hundreds have added personal stories that explain how Ry touched their lives. From Gabe who explained how Ry was the cool kid who was kind when he was a younger geek at the skate park, to the girl who said Ry called to encourage her everyday, so she would stay on track. What a gift this will be for Lis when she is older and asks who her Daddy was. We will be able to give her a vision of her Daddy from all the kind words of those who loved him.

Several of his talented friends have written incredible poems and songs that share how they loved my son. What a blessing each of these pearls from them are to Ron and I. There have been a million tears since April 5th when my son left us, but there have been a million blessings from those who shared their love of my outgoing son. He was loved, he is missed, he will never be forgotten.

In Him,
Joyfully reflecting
