Ladies And A Blue Jean Bible Study

By faith, my faith, when times get hard we try to muster up faith. Sometimes it feels impossible to build enough faith to make it through our difficult times. A wise friend told me tonight that it is not for us to worry ourselves sick over whether or not we can have the faith to make it through, but to rest in God's faith. His faith will get us through whatever life puts in our path.

Tonight we said yes to God and started a Bible study for young women who have been disappointed by their choices and the choices of those they have loved. It was such a blessing. We are beginning a 'Blue Jean Bible Study. I found it online and was excited by the introduction. Blue jeans are what you get if you need long-lasting strength, denim is your logical choice. That is what we want in faith-a faith that lasts and is practical in our world today.'  This sounds like a wonderful study that we can use to relate to our day to day lives.

The 1st read is in James and talks about how the trials we go through helps us. This is such a hard concept to wrap my mind around even though I know it is true. Our focus on God is more defined when we have turmoil in our lives. This does not mean that God brings strife to us, but only that He is there to lead us through what life dishes out. In my own life I have not always turned to Him but became consumed with trying to scramble for the fixes I came up with. As I get older and wiser, I am quicker to turn my hands up and let God take the lead in my life during the calms and the storms that present themselves.

So tonight I am grateful and blessed that this group of amazing young ladies have willingly come into my home to share their hearts with each other. God's favor will surely be on this new adventure. My expectation is not that it will be fun and lighthearted but that we will touch each others hearts and gain strength from one another as we put Christ at the center of our journeys.

In Him,
Joyful
