Moms do what moms do to help their kids learn, and sometimes it has to get pretty creative. My daughter-in-law was in the middle of 2 little darlings fighting over the Ariel doll this morning. Now there are certainly plenty of other princesses in their house. So their bright mommy sent Ariel to work with Daddy. It makes me smile to think of my linebacker son walking into the construction site with Ariel dangling from his lunch bag, but he probably left her alone in the car. Still it makes me smile!
I was blessed to adopt 3 boys in 27 months, and then our daughter came 3 years later. Now with 3 little boys running around the house, what one of them didn't think of the others did. There was also bravery in numbers while brainpower seemed to go out the window. So Ron and I had to be pretty clever to stay one step ahead of their mischief.
When they got a little older they were all about the boxers and were appalled to think we had ever put them in whitey tighties when they were little. Well that gave me an AHA moment. Never read in a child rearing book, but we often grounded them from their boxers. It was actually quite motivating!
New parents cannot imagine what they will do along the path of raising kids. Our love for our little ones is overwhelming, but our hope that they grow up happy and healthy will lead us to do whatever it takes to lead them in that direction.
So whether Ariel is going to work or kids are limited in their undergarment selection it is all done in love. Hope if Cam took Ariel out of the car he had her wear a hard hat. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt in the line of parenting!
In Him,
Joyful
