I Have One More Kiss Left

Upon entering our home, 3 year old K dutifully made the rounds and gave everyone a kiss. When she was finished she stood in the middle of the living room looking around at everyone. Finally, with a puzzled look on her face she proclaimed," I Have One More Kiss Left?"

This of course brought us all to tear filled eyes of laughter. She was completely serious and completely baffled on how to handle this situation. When we recovered we all begged for the left over kiss but she just flipped her hair and walked into the toy room.  Obviously, we were just not grasping her dilemma.

How often do we, adults, feel misunderstood? It occurred to me later that this was adorable to us but crushing to K. She was genuinely puzzled and everyone around her was amused. Next time I see her little self I am going to take her in my arms and snuggle her as I apologize. Of course, she will have no clue what Noni is going on about. But I know she will just hug me back and give me that left over kiss.

In Him,
Joyful
