Quick Wedding Trip Without My Groom

Family weddings are more desirable gatherings than family funerals. It is so marvelous to get together to chat a bit, drink a bit, ooh and aah over how our kids have grown and how beautiful the bride is. Well worth the 1100+ mile drive to be with my people for a couple of days. Unfortunately, Ron couldn't join the fun because of an unexpected obligation. I almost didn't make the trip since my adorable hubby wouldn't be there to share a dance or two. I talked my little pooch into joining me for the journey as an alternative companion. Kylie is a maltipoo that weighs in at about 10 pounds. She was content on the passenger seat in her own dog bed but slept more than visited along the way. I love her but she is no replacement for my man. Ron and I spent the evening cuddled on the couch catching each other up on our separate weekends. Sharing them through words since we couldn't be together this time.

My cousin was the perfect Daddy of the bride and she was gorgeous as I knew she would be.  The children enjoyed dancing and running around while the grownups sat and caught up.  My bonus was that I got to pick up my 7 year old granddaughter and share the weekend with her. It was so fun seeing cousins getting to know each other better while kicking up their heels.

Now I am home a bit tired but ready to put my teacher's hat back on and begin the crazy weeks ahead as we slide into Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. This weekend was proof once again that life is best when I say 'Yes' instead of 'No.'
In Him,
Joyful
