March 2nd, Ryan Shared His Birthday With Dr. Suess

Ryan's birthday is Friday. He shares it with Dr. Suess and should be celebrating his 26 years of life with us. Today I found a sweet, pink heart shaped rock on my walk. Just know he smiled and wished he had placed it in my hand. Oh how I am missing my son. I can still his little 3 year old voice squealing, "My birfday March second, my birfday March second." Ironic that we had his good bye celebration in the same fellowship hall/ roller skating rink at our church where he celebrated so many happy childhood birthday parties.

2 weeks ago Ron and I went to another goodbye service for another broken teen. Sunday I went to lunch with a sweet senior in high school who should be carefree and looking forward to her future. Instead she continues to grieve her brother who hung himself from the basketball rim in his backyard where he spent countless hours growing up. What are we going to do to stop the loss of life among our young people. The pain of parents, siblings and friends who just keep losing those they love. The stress that these youth are under is killing them literally.

We need to be on our knees for these precious children. It is not enough to be praying unceasingly. We need to be praying with them as we hold both their hands and bring our Christ in the middle of our relationships. Knowing that they are not alone is what having a parent, sibling or friend who is willing to place Christ in the middle of their love and relationship is key. The loneliness and hopelessness can only be wiped away with His unconditional love.

1 Corinthians 13:4  Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn't jealous. It doesn't sing its own praises. It isn't arrogant.

There is an urgency to spread God's love. Hope in the truth that He loves us and only wants us to be in a relationship with Him. It is not about religion it is about a Father that loves us no matter what we do or who we are.

Just as I am, without one plea,
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou bidst me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
In Him,
Joyful 2-28-12
