Snowed In But Cozy

Snowed in New Mexico style.

Wait, we aren’t supposed to get this much snow and it certainly isn’t supposed to pile up. We are spoiled in getting snow that melts off in a day or two. Not this time! Yestetday, I shoveled the driveway three times and removed close to sixteen inches of the beautiful, heavy, white stuff. What made this task more difficult was the three foot bank of snow that was still standing from our thirty-seven inch storm around the first of January. So I couldn’t just scooch it off the side. I had to hoist it onto the ever growing wall of snow that now borders our drive.

Mom and I missed church because of the storm. It was just too dangerous to get out with her cane or walker. I can’t tell you how many times in my busy life I have wished for pajama days at home. Yet here I am feeling housebound and not at all grateful for this time in house. We haven’t unburied my car on the street since Friday. The good news is I have been getting more unpacking, paperwork, and cleaning done. Mom and I have had a great time with Alexa playing all our favorite. I need to make a playlist. Yesterday was Purple People Eater, Old Rugged Cross, My Sleeping Beauty (my. Dad used to play this one for Teri and I on an old LP), and a whole lot of Ray Stevens and Jim Stanford. Just from the titles you can tell my parents enjoyed the fun, story type music. We used to watch Hee Haw every week so we had to add a bit of Buck Owens as well.

My hope is to get out today and go for a drive just to get out of the house for a bit. We were blessed that Jenn and Nina ordered what we needed from the grocery store for us and even delivered it. If any of you want to come make a snow angel I will garnered we have plenty of snow so it will last a while.

In Him,
Joyful
