A Good Birthdate

2-20-2020 a good day to be born. Ron and I are here in the hospital cafeteria letting the soon to be Felix’ parents get some much needed rest after a night of laboring. It occurs to me that they are not just about to be parents but have been his parents for almost forty one weeks now. The wait to snuggle hi in their arms is almost over. The wait to see if he has his daddy’s fabulous red hair is almost over.

What an honor that they are allowing us to be a part of his transition from one space to this world. Their inclusive, relaxed nature is gifting all of us with this experience. Sweet Aunt Cindy Honey beat all of us to the hospital last night when Felix gave us the green light.

Natalie and Nate hoped to welcome him into the world at a birthing inn. But wherever and however aren’t what matters. Families are formed in so many ways. Our little grandson all be here soon and his timing will be just right. Until then we wait with gentle words of encouragement and hand rubs. What a gift this newborn son s to our family. Happy birthday Felix, unless you decide to keep us waiting until tomorrow.
