Enough? Enough! Ahhh Enough

ENOUGH! We can say enough when we have had more than we can take.
Kind of like crying Uncle in a tickle session or when you have the flu and your third kid starts throwing up. Enough can be that we are out of resources, physically and emotionally.
ENOUGH! We can say enough when we are filled with all that we need in the moment.
Enough as we push our plate away and decide our tummy can’t take one more bite even if it is our favorite desert. When we pay our last bill and realize finally there is money left in our bank account. The warm feeling when we sit watching those we love interact with each other over a board game or project. Having the love of your life call you to go look at a sunset he knows you will love.
ENOUGH! We say enough when we feel up for a task. When we feel accomplished because we finished a training or get the last thing checked off our list. That feeling we have when we need to comfort a friend who is going through something that we have already experienced. For once in our lives we get it that we are that person who can comfort and guide.
ENOUGH! Suitable~sufficient~abundant~acceptable~competent~complete~comfortable~adequate~ample.

Often we don’t feel like we are enough. That this is a mistake and there certainly should be someone else to accomplish the task set before us. Sadly, we can get stuck in this focus and not allow ourselves to lean in and fill our purpose. Self doubt will convince us we will never be enough or that it will be overwhelming like the first enough. That feeling of get me out of here. I can’t take another second of this. Or we can look at others and after careful measuring believe they are not enough. That their hearts are not for us or who we need them to be.

Enough can be a judgmental attitude or a feeling of satisfaction. It is interesting that one word can have polar opposite feelings attached to it. The truth is we all experience the feeling of both sides of enough. There are days we just don’t feel up to life or that we are overwhelmed with what lies ahead. Then there are those precious moments we look around and smile for all the treasures of life. When we look back at our mistakes and circumstances and know that He brought us through those heart crushing moments to place us right here, right now. Somehow that is enough to get us through and be grateful in this time.

In Him,,
