Cinco de Mayo on Taco Tuesday what could be better than that. The lifting of social distancing could be better but what if we asked someone over to share a meal outside six feet apart? Sort of a backyard barbecue taco bar. Could we be safely together and won’t the Tequila help mitigate the germs? I don’t think Ronnie B. and I will actually have others over but it would be fun to imagine sharing a meal again. I sort of blew my timing on taco Tuesday since we had tacos last night. Let’s be honest it is always taco time and we can surely eat them two nights in a row. Guess I will get my last hamburger out of the freezer and celebrate the day with some beefy goodness. No we have not hoarded meat yet so these may be our last tacos in a while.
I hope we are better at reaching out and inviting others to our home when this shelter-in-place is all over. To be honest we rarely invited people over before this all began. We did have a Saturday morning breakfast list and tried to go out for breakfast most Saturdays. But we rarely ever had people to our home for a meal. Perhaps we got so into the remodeling mode that even when our kitchen was up and running we didn’t take time to socialize. This should be a goal post quarantine. To open our home and let others in more.
What do you miss during this time of isolation that you want to include in your life after we come out into society once more? Was it something that you had moved away from even before life came to a stand still? Sometimes a timeout shows us how to best refocus our attention. The whole calendar and checkbook idea that shows our priorities is so true. Our focus for the past few years has been spending time with my Mom and Beth but also on tasks of remodeling. The changes we have made to our house are fabulous. Taking time to invite others to join us here will take the upgrades to our house and make it our home. Happy Cinco de Mayo. Drink your tequila. After all you won’t be driving anyway.
In Him,
Joyful
