It is said that we should pray for our spouse before we even meet them. That we pray for our children’s spouses while they are still young ones. Praying for each other is such a powerful heart shift. When we pray it is difficult to condemn. In this time of political division we each believe that our views are correct. We get so caught up in the fears that if our party doesn’t win our country will be destroyed. When the truth is that God is in control no matter who wins the elections. We need to rest in the fact that all have our countries best interests at heart. No one wants our country to fail. We just have different approaches on how to achieve our goals.
So let’s start today before the election results are tallied and pray for the leaders and future leaders of our country. Praying for them will prevent us from condemning them and getting caught up in the fear the media is feeding us. Prayer can bring us together under one roof, one flag, one leadership. Whoever wins the elections local and national will be our leaders. We need to put down our politics and pray for wisdom and courage to lead this nation. Red, white and blue is our color and our leaders deserve our prayers and support even if the didn’t get our vote.
1 Timothy 2:2 And pray for every political leader[a] and representative,[b] so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. 3 It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them
