A Bit More Light

This side of the winter solstice somehow just gives me new hope. Rather than darkness increasing each and everyday. The sun is peeking out over the eastern sky a bit more everyday. This morning I woke up to darkness but quickly was able to enjoy the spectacular colors of the sunrise. Through the darkness of this pandemic there have been lights that we will always be grateful for. The shadow of death has impacted so many and even my sister was lost to this virus. Economic, emotional and health tragedies have robbed families worldwide of the connections this past year. Along with the darkness there have been points of light. Families coming together with time they never could have imagined due to schedules being completely free. Board games were dusted off and popcorn was popped as laughter filled the dining rooms where families were gathered around tables that hadn’t been used in awhile. The glow of a warm fire adds not only warmth but an atmosphere of hope. As 2020 comes to an end it is going to be a time to reflect on loved ones who are no longer with us and all the joy they continue bringing to our lives.

In Him,
Joyful
