Let's Be Silly and Not Apologize

Why do we apologize for acting silly? Getting punchy when we are tired is actually a good thing. Letting down our guards and proper boundaries can be just what we need......a sort of escape from the routine. I remember Jenn telling how she and B would crack each other up so much that one or both of them peed their pants. That is a good release.......well maybe not for the car seat or furniture. But hey, everything can be washed and the memory of the joy is priceless.

Last night, Pat and I sat at our table listening to Ron and Lay describe their archeology adventures of the past few days. What a wild ride they had from washed out roads to an old woman luring them to come inside as if she was the witch in the story of Hansel and Gretel. That she had a zebra and puppies caged with bed springs made it all the funnier. They chose not to take her up on her offer of dinner and a bed. 'Good call from all they said. We laughed and laughed at the table as we listened and made a few off color jokes. But it was good fun. Later, Lay apologized for being silly and blamed it on being tired and punchy. Hello! There was no need to apologize. We were all enjoying the silliness. It felt good to be silly. What we need to do is recognize that we should let loose more often and just belly laugh.

Guffaw means to laugh loudly, especially at something stupid that someone has said or done. Today let's make a pack to really laugh out loud or better yet make someone else guffaw at our antics. It is a great therapy and I plan to practice it more and not apologize.

In Him,

Joyful
