The tears and broken heart of a daughter saying goodbye to her Mom and the crush of pain as a Mom says goodbye to her daughter show shared hearts and overwhelming love. It is so hard to watch their grief. The memories they shared of lives lived together brought laughter and joy to a room that had been filled with tears moments before. A roller coaster of emotions along with the exhaustion of their new reality. Both these women had watched the suffering of illness so the emptiness was paired with relief that Sandy and Emily were no longer suffering but safely whole in heaven.
The bond between a mother and her daughter is unmatched. Through the snuggles of a newborn, the broken vases of a toddler, the comfort of mean girls, the distance of teenage years and then the bestfriends of their adult years is the journey we treasure. The hope of having that one person who calls and checks in is lost. Sharing with them has to be a private thought that you wish you could share and not picking up the phone. So sad. I am so sad for both these women who are facing waking up day after day without their person. Loss is real especially when a bond is so strong.
I know that their faith will assure them that this separation is not forever but oh the loss until then......
