A bit of rain fell last night. Oh how we need the rain. Our May is usually a time of soaking rains and then dry June gives way to the dramatic monsoons in July. But without even a hint of sprinkle in May, we are parched. The bad thing is each of us has to water more to keep our outside from dying. We water with water that is in short supply. What a sad cycle. The sprinkles bring hope that quenching rain is coming soon. We will see.
What a gift the clouds are overhead. There wasn't enough rain to bring a rainbow but there is hope that we will be seeing a rainbow soon.
Hope is what we need for the rain but also for life. When we are in a dry season it is difficult to believe that our situation will be resolved and life will get better. That is where hope and faith come in. Looking back on how difficult seasons resolved in the past and believing that not what if but even if we can get through what life holds.
A little rain may fall is typically said meaning that hard times will come. But in our drought a little rain is such a gift. There is joy in the rain as it brings life to everything it touches.
In Him,
Joyful
