Paul's Hamper Story Wins the Reunion's Most Hilarious

Our family reunion was full of stories of these adults when they were children running around causing havoc at Gramma and Grampa Vigil's house. From burning down down the old barn to cutting down Grampa's corn to make a fort in the field to just running around crazy the stories were such fun. But Paul wins the prize with his hamper story.

So the kids were all playing hide and seek and Paul got the bright idea to hide in the hamper in the bathroom. Paul was a little guy so he climbed in with all the dirty clothes. In walks Grampa to use the bathroom. Paul freaked but decided he better just stay still and hope Grampa didn't find out he was in there. Grampa was known to bluster at the kids shenanigans. I just imagined how he would have reacted if he saw Paul's little eyes peeking out as he sat thinking he was having a private moment of peace.

Paul's retelling of the story had us all laughing so hard that we all were wiping tears from our eyes. There were so many great memories and those of us who didn't grow up Vigil were jealous of all their escapades. It was clear that even though they thought Gramma and Grampa seemed to be overrun with grandkids that they must of loved all the chaos of kids. After all, they had the ten kids that produced all those grands. They most likely had some good laughs as they laid down to sleep at night. I wonder if Grampa knew Paul was there and just didn't let on.

In Him,

Joyful
