Memory Filled Exhaustion

Crazy couple of days emptying the last stuff out of Ron’s Mom’s basement. So many treasures and memories in that space. Paul, Cindy, Ron and I put more stair climbing on our Fitbits than ever before and that didn’t include the heavy loads we were carrying as we ascended those steps. Each of us busted our butts and the job is done. Basement is empty, trailers are packed, and the decades of mouse droppings are disposed of. Garret and Victoria have their home completely to themselves just in time for their wedding next Saturday.

All in all we feel pretty good to have the job completed and look forward to incorporating family heirlooms into our homes and the homes of our kids. We left plenty of items for Deb and her family as well. Ron tirelessly went through photos, slides, and negatives divvying them up for the three siblings. There are countless reel to reels to convert when we get home. This marks the end of cleaning out both our parent’s homes and now to enjoy the sweet items that fill our house with memories of them and the life we lived under their care. This is a good exhausted and a time of moving forward. It certainly makes us more aware of what we are gathering that our children will one day be rummaging through. Looks like it is it time to make a few Goodwill trips so their task is not as daunting.

In Him,

Joyful
