Oh what a day, oh what a day~my baby brother ran away~I’m eight years old and turning grey~oh what a day, oh what a day. Shel Silverstein
Big problems or small we all have days that seem to present problems at every turn. Night before last, our two year old grandson, Felix, woke up screaming. He wasn’t wet, cold, or having a nightmare. He simply needed is toy dinosaur in his crib right then and there. One Dino wouldn’t do. He needed all his dinosaurs before he could lay down and rest.
We may not wake up wanting a specific toy but we do wake up with worry on our minds and not get back to sleep when we can’t figure a solution. It is good practice to have a notebook beside our beds so we can jot down any thoughts we don’t want to lose in the morning. Letting go of a concern doesn’t happen until we are able to make a plan. It can also be humorous in the morning when you see what your foggy mind thought was going to be effective.
Today let’s get our lists prepared with the need to do, want to do, as well as rest times. It is good to accomplish to dos during the day but also to give ourselves a break when things don’t go as planned. Who knows why we were interrupted and redirected. Perhaps it was a better plan than even what was on our list.
In Him,
Joyful
