Chuckle Belly is a Thing

Sometimes we just need to laugh.Last night Millie who is eleven months old just got tickled by life. Her little self just thought everything was hilarious. Her chuckles were contagious and she had us all rolling on the floor sharing her joy. What a pleasant way to spend the evening.

I am convinced we don’t belly laugh enough in our lives. Perhaps we all need to watch comedy more and news less. Lucy and Ethel could always make us laugh whether they were working on a candy line that went ever faster or scheming to outwit their husbands. Needing to laugh is probably why cat videos are so popular on the internet. We all just need to laugh out loud~literally. In my dorm in college we played chuckle belly  one person laid down and the next person put their head on their belly  people were added till there was a continuous circle the first person laughed once and the laughs went around the circle bouncing heads along the way as the number of chuckles increased  everyonedissolved into true belly.

They say Laughter is the best medicine. Of course none of us wants to be laughed at but it is good to laugh at ourselves and with one another. There is physical and mental benefits that are scientifically proven to our chuckles being beneficial. So get out those old Laurel and Hardy VCR tapes and dust off your remote the time has come for a good old fashion cackle. If you sold those at garage sales decades ago you can always watch Impractical Jokers or Ridiculousness. Or better yet volunteer in a nursery or to give a mom a break. Wee ones are always going to make us snicker.

In Him,

Joyful
