Out with the old and in with the new. Yesterday, we finally bought a new couch after over twenty years. It is so difficult to choose one that you think will be the last one you own. Our last sofa lasted so long even with four kiddos so it makes since with just the two of us this one will last even longer. We were excited that we don’t have to wait months to get it and shocked that it was in stock and can be delivered this week.
Ronnie B. and I are at that age when the things we acquire now will likely last the rest of our lives. You would think that would make me sad but it absolutely doesn’t. This season of our lives is so sweet and we are both enjoying each other in this retirement relaxation and adventure. Let’s admit it, the couches will last longer because of our traveling rather than being home.
We have finally incorporated all of Ron’s and my mom’s treasures and furniture into our home. Ridding out what we could live without of things we had gathered took some time. Now we feel settled in and just need carpet to complete the downstairs. Making decisions and choosing things is difficult for us. Some people can go into a store and walk out with a receipt for their purchase. That is just not us.
Seasons change in life. Furniture changes in living rooms.
