Good Food and Better Conversations for a Lifetime

This is my happy place…..Why is it that Arizona seems to be the only place you can get a cheese crisp rather than a quesadilla. Even in AZ this heavenly food is harder to find as other restaurants are giving in and serving the folded, crisp free ones. Ronnie B and I went to La Fondas to get one of my favorite foods. Yummy! Adding a blood orange margarita upgraded the whole experience.

Since we are here for our 50th high school reunion, Ron kept pointing out other old people who could possibly be classmates. Too funny! Tonight we expect to see a bunch of old folks not be old folks. Wait a minute, maybe our white hair and laugh lines put us in the same category. We may have to ask if anyone else ate at this restaurant and we just didn’t recognize them.

Today we want to drive around to old haunts and homes we lived in just to reminisce. This time Ronnie B gets lunch at his favorite food place, the Hawaiian Barbecue. Isn’t it true how much of our memories are tied to food and meals with others. Jesus was an example of sitting down to spend time together at a table. This morning we had coffee with our nephew at his new home and what a lovely conversation we shared.

We are excited to catch up with classmates this evening and share our lives with one another. There will no doubt be lots of pictures of grand kiddos and trips. It seems at our 39th reunion it was more about jobs, kids and remodels. Now we are mostly retired, empty nesters who travel to see the grands. Ronnie B and I are not the only high school couple who are still married to our best friends. It will be good to catch up with the other lifelong loves from the class of 1974. We can’t wait!

In Him,

Joyful
