Goldie not Nookie

Ronnie B and I bought a new casita on wheels. We have been looking for over two years and just couldn’t find anything that fit us as well as our 1989. Although we loved our current one, it is needing more and more attention that we don’t want to give. So here we are in Fort Collins with our new purchase. It is a 2000 Chinook that is perfect for us. Yes, we realize it is twenty-five years old but it has low miles and we just love it. The past couple years we looked at everything bright and new but none of them were a fit. The money was three times what we paid for this one and not at all what we wanted. So we are in the new millennium with this one and couldn’t be happier.

My kids are prudes compared to Ronnie B and me. I guess I get my naughtiness from my parents and Gramma Peabody. I texted them that since it is a Chinook we are going to name it Nookie. They all said we couldn’t even consider naming her that. Then they wondered if we even knew what that meant. Hello, we have been married for forty-seven years. I told them we were actually calling her Goldie because she is so fabulous and will drive us into our golden years. Ron said we should call her Golden Nookie but they objected to that as well. Perhaps Golden Chi Chi Nookie would be better?! After careful consideration we will stick to Goldie.

The lady we purchased her from is 89 years old who lost the love of her life two weeks ago. She recognized that she wouldn’t be traveling without her husband. There were many hugs and tears as she gave us the keys and acknowledged God’s plan for us to continue the journey in this well cared for rv. Traveling home we stopped for our first night in Goldie at Joyful Journey hot springs which seemed perfectly fitting. There was even a pink heart rock on the path to our soaking tubs. That sweet stone will have a spot in our Goldie as we personalize her to be our traveling home. God is always with us guiding our paths and putting others to connect with along the way. Sally, her love and her family will forever be in our thoughts along the road.

In Him,

Joyful
