This is a picture of pure joy. Lissa is a young mom of two wee ones and taking a full load of college classes. She has her nose to the grindstone a lot in life. So this past weekend Jenn and I took her to the Buc-ees in Amarillo. Who knew a gas station on steroids could bring such happiness. This pic was taken at the slug bug ranch where they planted limos and VWs in the ground for people can spray paint. A simple pleasure that brought out this smile on her face.
Lissa never whines about all that she has to do on her own. She is a joy filled person for the most part. A couple weeks ago she loaded her kids on a plane to be there for a family member who got a horrible diagnosis at too young an age. She had a need to be there with everyone. Then she got hurt that others who said they would help out just didn’t. Now there is a conflict that she is processing with her therapist and will get things back on track when she can. Until then it is my hope that others can see the heart of this generous, young lady. She is my grandgirl so I am prejudiced but she is an inspiration. Practically daily she teaches me how to embrace life with a smile rather than a snivel. I thank her for making me a better person.
Although I must say that her knees were a bit chilly Those jeans are styling for sure. But I have a need to grab a needle and thread and a whole pile of patches and close up those gaping holes. Yes, Lissa’s Noni is that old. I am so glad we celebrated this young mom with a quick trip for Beaver Nuggets in Texas. It was a blast.
In Him,
Joyful
